Hello and welcome to Day 5 of your 30 Day Challenge and now we've kicked off your transformation in earnest by taking the first step towards creating a healthier diet.
Over the last 24 hours, you should have found yourself out of your comfort zone by implementing your stretch goal.
So today we're going to start by learning to understand the real reason quite why this stretch makes you feel uncomfortable.
When emotions and challenges arise for us, we have two options. The first is what most people do what you've probably done most of your life too; that's to put your head down, push forward and use as much willpower as possible to double down and push through it. The problem is, this will only work for so long, and eventually the constant fighting with ourselves wears us down. And even if we do move forward it feels like a long hard slog.
When these challenges arise, there is a second option, and that is to deal with them head on. To find out what's really in the way and then to resolve it and move on. Permanently.
And that's exactly what I'm going to challenge you to do right now.
So the first thing we need to do in any situation where we want to impact change is to become aware of what's really going on.
Today's task, therefore, is to get a small notebook or diary to write in (your 'Notes' function on your phone will work). And then start to jot down every feeling or thought you have that's holding you back in someway.
So if you stopped eating chocolate as your stretch goal you might notice that… you're irritable in the morning, or that you're feeling "empty' at lunch, or more tired in the afternoon. Or that you were constantly negotiating in your head about breaking your stretch goal or making it more flexible, or that you notice you expect to fail or anything at all really. Just write it down in your notes.
This is the start of your "Awareness Journal". So write it all down. Once you start to get awareness around what's happening then tomorrow we're going to start looking at how to create change to it.
But for today, you don't need any of these thoughts or emotions to go anywhere. Just relax and observe them. Develop a curiosity mindset, learn to be intrigued by what you think and feel. And just watch.

My suggestion for this evening is to take 40 minutes, run yourself a relaxing bubble bath and soak in it while you listen to the track.
And remember, let go of any judgment or need for things to be different from how they are, and simply observe impartially.
